Rescuing "The Rescuers"

The idea just came up in Septembeer 2019.
I'll go on writing on that in the following months.

It all starts with the thought that "The Rescuers" has always been my favourite Disney Animated Picture. But it seems that noone's thinking of it today, as if it's been forgotten.

I'd like to offer a concept for a remake/revival of this incredibly emotional artwork.


Here are some ideas concerning the formal aspects:
I think of a remake as an old fashioned hand-drawn film, or
look-like hand-drawn, like it was shown in Pooh the bear...

The screen format should be as wide as even possible. Reason: Big Story, Big Screen.

The Music shouldn't be changed at all, the voice of the woman taking the part of
the main titles like "someone's waiting for you" should NOT be sexy in any way as it seems to be en vogue these days; it should rather be loving, warm and protecting.
I think of the voice of Olivia Newton-John, f.e.
Reason: the soul of the 70's music cannot be topped. I'd like to protect that and make it presentable for the generations of today.

The world of colours chosen in the original film should NOT be changed at all. It is a dark story, there's not much to laugh, and it should remain that way.
Reason: make a statement. Show that the true heart of a story is much more important than money making. The audience is going to appreciate it. (Think of the huge success of the film JOKER).

A significant formal change could be a camera that moves through the scenes. Imagine the first scene in the jungle - the camera slowly moves towards the old ship wreck, the door opens and Penny comes out, looks around and throws her message-in-a-bottle into the water. All in just one shot!

The following sequence - journey of the bottle, shown in stills with a very dramatic music - should be like the same.
